A Little Bit About Me
I grew up in the American Restoration Movement, where my family and church community taught me from an early age to love God, take Scripture seriously, and see faith as something that shapes an entire life. By high school, I had begun to wonder whether ministry might become the work of my life. That question eventually brought me to Harding University, where I studied Youth and Family Ministry and began discovering the kind of minister I hoped to become.
After Harding, I served in congregational ministry in Tullahoma, Memphis, and the Kansas City metropolitan area. Those years gave me experience in preaching, teaching, pastoral care, spiritual formation, volunteer leadership, and ministry across a variety of congregational and urban contexts. Along the way, I completed a Master of Divinity at Lipscomb University, where my theological world expanded and I learned to appreciate the richness of Christian traditions beyond my own.
Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to the more personal work of helping people notice the presence and movement of God in their lives. In 2022, I completed two years of training in spiritual direction through Lipscomb University's Institute for Christian Spirituality and founded Prayerful Companion, my private spiritual direction practice. The wisdom of spiritual direction, particularly the Ignatian tradition, now deeply shapes the way I understand pastoral care, leadership, discernment, and ministry.
Today, I serve as Engagement Officer for Harding School of Theology, where my work brings together theological education, vocational discernment, church engagement, and spiritual formation. I also serve on the board of the Ekklesia Project, coordinate its weekly Thursday Evening Prayer, and write regularly on the Revised Common Lectionary. In 2026, I completed a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership through Harding University's executive coaching track, further deepening my interest in healthy leadership, organizational culture, and helping people and communities flourish.
Through all of these different expressions of ministry, I find myself returning to the same calling: walking with others toward God. I want to help people and communities notice where God is already present, grow toward maturity in Christ, and participate faithfully in what God is doing in and around them.
My wife, Morgan, and I have been married since 2014, and we are now discovering the joy and holy disruption of life as parents to our new daughter. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling with my family, spending time outdoors, reading old books, drinking good coffee, eating good food, and sharing life with our dogs.
